About Us
My heart has always been pulled toward the children who show up each day carrying more than anyone realizes. I’ve seen how much a simple, steady start can change the course of a child’s entire day. No child should walk into a classroom feeling unprepared, embarrassed, or unsure if they’ll have enough to get through the morning. I created the Bright Focus Initiative because I believe every student deserves to feel supported, nourished, and seen from the moment they walk through the school doors. This work is personal for me — I know what it feels like to grow up navigating instability, and I want to make sure our children have one less barrier to overcome. My passion is creating programs that restore dignity, promote confidence, and give kids the fuel they need to learn, grow, and thrive.

Growing up, many of us learn how to smile through pain, carry responsibilities too heavy for our age, and push past hurt we never had the tools to name. That early trauma often follows us into adulthood, shaping how we see ourselves, how we trust others, and how we show up in the world. For me, that understanding didn’t come just from training — it came from lived experience and watching the children around me shoulder emotional weight they never asked for.
I founded the Bright Focus Initiative because no child should start their day hungry, overwhelmed, or already carrying a burden that dims their ability to learn. When basic needs aren’t met — nourishment, emotional grounding, a moment to breathe — it becomes nearly impossible for a child to thrive in the classroom or in life. My mission is to interrupt that cycle early by creating caring, stigma-free support systems that meet students where they are.
As a certified Mental Health First Aid and QPR professional, and a long-time training and development leader, I’ve dedicated my work to helping people feel seen, heard, and supported. Through Bright Focus Initiative, I work with schools, childcare centers, and community partners to build wellness-centered routines that make a measurable difference in a child’s readiness, confidence, and overall wellbeing.
Because when we strengthen a child’s morning, we strengthen their future. And when we help them feel safe enough to focus, they begin to believe in what’s possible.
